Who is BerthFinder for?
Marinas, harbours, yacht clubs, mooring operators, berth brokers and private berth owners — anyone who wants direct enquiries from boaters actively searching for berth space. Boaters use it for free; operators pay a flat fee for visibility and tooling.
Is there a fee to join BerthFinder?
No upfront fee. The free tier gives a verified listing once claimed. The Operator subscription is £149/month, one price whatever the size of your marina, and additional sites in a multi-site group are £99/month. The subscription includes introductions — subscribers pay no introduction fees. Brokers and private berth owners list free — see the berth sales terms for the success fee that applies only when a sale or letting completes.
Do you take commission on bookings or enquiries?
Never on an enquiry — enquiries go straight from the boater to you and nothing is payable however many you receive, or for answering them, or on visitor stays. A success fee exists only where it was agreed in writing first: on berth sales and lettings listed through us, and on introductions where a marina has agreed our introduction terms — 5% of the first year only, minimum £250, never more than 12.5%. Marinas on the Operator subscription pay no introduction fees at all. Where no fee has been agreed in writing, none is payable.
How are enquiries handled?
Boaters submit enquiries via your listing. The enquiry lands in your inbox (and in your operator dashboard if you are on a paid tier). You respond directly. No middleman.
Can we control how availability is presented?
Yes — paid operators set their listing status to Available, Limited, Full, Seasonal or Enquire-only. Boaters see live status. When you are Full, boaters can join a waiting list and you are notified automatically.
What happens after we apply?
We verify your operation (ownership, legitimacy, or operational authority), then work with you on how your listing is presented — enquiry routing, access model, key public details. Then your profile goes live.
Can multi-site operators join?
Yes — group operators get a dedicated group page plus individual listings per site. Your first site is priced as normal (£149/mo); every additional site in the same group is £99/month flat — no separate £149 decision per site. Contact us at [email protected] to get set up as a group.
I am a private berth owner — can I list my berth for sale or rent?
Yes — listing is free. We write the listing with you, buyer enquiries come straight to you, and a success fee applies only if it sells or lets through us, agreed in writing before it goes live.
I am a broker with multiple berths — is there a package for me?
Yes — brokers list free: every berth you represent under one account, with enquiries routed straight to you. We charge a success fee only when a deal we introduced completes, agreed in writing up front. No subscription.
