Hartland Quay sits at the foot of towering cliffs on the North Devon coast at Hartland Point, the westernmost tip of Devon where the Bristol Channel proper begins. This isolated quay was historically used to land cargo for the remote Hartland parish and is now a hotel and visitor attraction rather than an active working quay. For sailors passage-making along the North Devon and North Cornwall coasts, Hartland Point is a key navigation mark — rounding it with a fair tide and settled conditions is a satisfying milestone on any west country voyage.
