Kingston Marina is situated in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica and the largest English-speaking city in the Caribbean, set in the natural harbour protected by the Palisadoes tombolo on which Norman Manley International Airport stands. The marina is close to the historic district of Port Royal — once the "wickedest city in the world" and the base for buccaneers including Henry Morgan — now partly submerged after the 1692 earthquake.
