Marina Arenas Paita is located in Paita, a port city in the Piura region of northern Peru on the Pacific coast, one of the oldest Spanish colonial ports in South America. Paita served as a viceregal supply port and was the home of Manuela Sáenz, the South American independence heroine and companion of Simón Bolívar, who lived her final years here.
