About
Marina Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the Canary Islands' premier yacht marina and one of the most strategically important stops in the Atlantic. Situated at the crossroads of Europe, the Mediterranean and the Americas, it is the traditional gathering point for transatlantic passages and the home port of the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), the world's largest ocean rally, which departs every November for St Lucia in the Caribbean.
The marina — officially the Dársena de Embarcaciones Menores, operated by the Port Authority of Las Palmas — offers around 1,100 berths for visiting yachts up to 45m LOA and 5m depth, with a dedicated reception pontoon staffed by port officials. Berthing is on a first-come basis; advance bookings are not accepted. Call ahead or hail on VHF 11.
Facilities are comprehensive: shore power, fresh water, Wi-Fi, fuel dock, showers, laundry, pump-out, chandlery and a full-service boatyard with haul-out, all within the marina. The surrounding neighbourhood offers excellent provisioning with boat delivery, restaurants, hotels and easy access to Gran Canaria's interior. Las Palmas airport is 30 minutes away with cheap flights across Europe.
Note: berthing during October and November is heavily restricted due to ARC preparations. Plan ahead if arriving in that window.
