Methoni Marina is located at the ancient fortified village of Methoni on the southwestern tip of the Peloponnese, guarded by a spectacular Venetian castle that stands on a promontory rising directly from the sea. Methoni was one of the most important Venetian ports in the eastern Mediterranean, and the castle is among the finest surviving examples of Venetian military architecture in Greece.
