About
Nuku'alofa is the capital of Tonga, the last remaining Polynesian monarchy. Tonga is exceptional for boaters — the Ha'apai and Vava'u groups offer hundreds of pristine anchorages, and the Kingdom is one of the world's best places to swim with humpback whales (July-October, when they come to calve in the warm lagoons). The Vava'u group in particular is considered one of the Pacific's finest cruising destinations.
