Pohnpei Harbour is the main port of the Federated States of Micronesia, set on the island of Pohnpei (formerly Ponape) in the western Pacific — a high volcanic island of extraordinary tropical vegetation surrounded by a barrier reef. The nearby ruined city of Nan Madol, built on artificial islets in the lagoon, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site sometimes called the "Venice of the Pacific."
