Port de La Ciotat sits in a well-sheltered bay east of Marseille, between the dramatic white limestone calanques to the west and Bandol to the east. With 800 berths, it is a substantial marina with good provisioning and repair facilities, and serves as a convenient passage stop on the coastal route between Marseille and Toulon. The Calanques National Park — a series of fjord-like inlets in stark white limestone — is accessible by sea and one of the most spectacular natural features on the French Mediterranean coast. La Ciotat itself has a proud maritime history as a former shipbuilding centre. Stern-to Med mooring is standard.
