About
Port de Sanary-sur-Mer is a charming, colourful fishing harbour on the Provence coast between Toulon and Bandol, with 500 berths and a reputation as one of the most pleasant small ports on the French Mediterranean. The weekly market, pastel-painted houses, and palm-lined waterfront give it a distinctively Provençal character. Sanary was a refuge for German writers and artists in the 1930s — Thomas Mann and Bertolt Brecht were among those who sheltered here. The sailing area includes the Îles des Embiez, the Giens peninsula, and easy access to Toulon's vast natural harbour. Stern-to Med mooring is standard.
