A Legacy Built on the Water

Originally established as a private marina and marine railway by the Behlke family, who immigrated from Germany in 1900, the property has deep roots in the Chesapeake Bay community. The Behlkes farmed the surrounding land while developing a reputation for hard work, integrity, and respect for the water.

In 1982, Brian Conner leased the marina at just 20 years old. Through decades of hard work and investment, he transformed Rhode River Marina into one of the Chesapeake Bay's most respected full-service marinas and boat dealerships while maintaining the family values the marina was founded upon.
