Taranto Marina serves the city of Taranto in Apulia, built on a small island between an inner lagoon (the Mare Piccolo) and the outer Ionian Gulf (the Mare Grande), a configuration that made it one of the great naval bases of antiquity and remains an important Italian naval base today. The old city stands on the island connected by a swing bridge, and the National Archaeological Museum holds one of the finest collections of Magna Graecia art in existence. Contact the marina directly for availability, rates, and facilities.
