Thames Marina is located in Thames at the base of the Coromandel Peninsula in the Waikato region, on the Firth of Thames at the southern end of the Hauraki Gulf. The surrounding Firth is a protected wetland of international importance, rich with birdlife, and the Coromandel ranges rise steeply above the town.
