Mali Lošinj Marina serves the main town of Lošinj island in the Kvarner Gulf, a popular sailing destination with an exceptionally mild microclimate and clear waters that support a resident bottlenose dolphin population. The harbour front is lined with pastel-painted 19th-century merchant houses, and the town has good provisioning, restaurants, and a small hospital. Lošinj is connected to Cres by a drawbridge at Osor, and the surrounding waters are an important marine protected area. Stern-to Med mooring is standard. The island is a natural hub for Kvarner island-hopping routes and a common waypoint for boats transiting between the northern Adriatic and Dalmatia.
