Opatija Marina Croatia

Opatija Marina serves one of Croatia's oldest and most elegant resort towns on the western Kvarner Gulf, a favourite of the Austro-Hungarian aristocracy and now a year-round destination for its mild climate and Art Nouveau architecture. The famous Lungomare coastal promenade runs south from Opatija to Lovran, and the hillside Villa Angiolina gardens are a short walk above the marina. The bay is sheltered from the south and west by the Istrian peninsula, though the bura can create strong offshore gusts in winter. Stern-to Med mooring is standard. Rijeka, Croatia's main northern port and city, is 12 km to the east.
