Port de Grimaud is a remarkable purpose-built marina village on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, often called "the Venice of Provence." Constructed in the 1960s, its 2,000 berths for vessels up to 25 m LOA are woven through a network of navigable canals, with each house backing directly onto the water. The port is exceptionally sheltered, making it one of the calmest berths on the Côte d'Azur even when the Mistral is blowing. The Gulf of Saint-Tropez is the centrepiece of the western French Riviera sailing area, with good anchorages at Pampelonne and the Îles d'Or within easy reach. Stern-to Med mooring is standard.
