About

Downderry is a small coastal village on the south Cornwall coast, situated on the western shore of Whitsand Bay between Looe and Plymouth. The beach at Downderry is a quiet, sandy cove backed by low cliffs, with an attractive aspect across to Rame Head and the Eddystone Lighthouse in the distance. There is no formal harbour — this is an open anchorage in settled conditions only — but it makes a pleasant lunch stop on passage between Plymouth and Fowey for vessels with shoal draught.
