Milford Sound Marina is at the head of the most famous fiord in New Zealand's Fiordland National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Described by Rudyard Kipling as the "eighth wonder of the world," the sound is dominated by the 1,692m Mitre Peak. The fiord receives over 7 metres of rain per year, sustaining dramatic waterfalls. Visiting by private vessel is one of the most extraordinary sailing experiences in the world.
